Collect and Return To Kilt Shop at Smiths of Greenock
If you feel unable to accept any of these terms and conditions imposed, you may cancel your order within 48 hours from your order date and receive a full refund, unless the function date is within 7 days of order date.
N.B Please note that some kilt tartans are unavailable above a 46" waist.
What we ask from you:
You (the hirer) must collect your outfit on the state collection date at The Kilt Shop at Smiths of Greenock and try your hire outfit on to ensure that the garments are correct. Should the hire be unsatisfactory this must be reported to The Kilt Shop immediately or before 10 am the day after your collection. You are expected to treat the Highland Dress Outfit with care. Smiths of Greenock do not accept any responsibility for unsatisfactory garments if you fail to do this.
Proof of Identification
I understand that I will not be able to collect my outfit without my passport or driving licence plus a personal bill. These forms of Identification are required to show your current name and address. Failure to provide proof of identification will result in Smiths of Greenock with holding the hire until suitable identification has been shown.
Accidental Damage Waiver
Covers hire garments up to the value of £200
Underwear must be worn with outfits as this waiver will not apply to items that are returned soiled or damaged. A £25 charge will be stand if the items are returned soiled.
If you have paid a premium for the Accidental Damage Waiver we will waive any charges that would normally arise following accidental damage to any or all of the garments whilst being used appropriately. The waiver will not apply if in the opinion of ourselves the garments have been damaged through inappropriate use.
Cancellations and Charges
If you need to cancel or amend your order at any stage please contact us immediately
In the event of the order being cancelled after 48 hours of the order date, your deposit will be lost. In the event of the order being cancelled up to 1 month before your function date you will lose/expect to pay 50% of the total order cost per suit. In the event of the order being cancelled up to 1 week before your function date you will lose/expect to pay the full cost of your order per suit.
Changes to any hire orders must be made no later than 2 weeks prior to the function date. Any changes will incur a £10 administrative fee.
We reserve the right to charge for any garment which is lost, stolen or returned damaged (unless covered by our Accidental Damage Waiver). A full list of charges is available on request.
If you require your outfits before the dates shown on your order a charge of £6.00 per day will incur for those days.
By purchasing this hire you are bound by these terms and conditions.
I understand that if suits are returned later than the return date stated, a charge of £6.00 per day will become payable thereafter. You will be held liable for any non-returned items including hangers and other items supplied when you return your hire which will be charged at full replacement value.
Lost garments will be charged to at their full value.
Deposits on uncollected orders are not returnable.
The Company provides a Skean Dhu to the (hirer and or and member of the hirer's party.) for dress purposes only as part of a Highland Dress Outfit for wear in jurisdictions that permit or do not prohibit the wearing of Skean Dhus and for no other purpose. Because the wearing of a Skean Dhu may or may not be lawful from time to time within any particular jurisdiction in which the Skean Dhu is worn, and because (the Company etc) has no control over where the Skean Dhu will in fact be worn, no warranty is, nor can be, given by (the Company etc), whether express or implied, as to the lawfulness or otherwise under any local bye-law, applicable statue or regulation made thereunder of wearing a Skean Dhu as part of a Highland Dress Outfit.
Accordingly, the (hirer for him/herself and on behalf of all other members of the hirer's party) acknowledges and accepts the risk that the wearing of a Skean Dhu may or may not be lawful in the jurisdiction in which the Highland Dress Outfit is worn, accepts full responsibility and liability for all damages, losses, claims, costs, expenses, actions, (whether civil or criminal) and others arising directly or indirectly as a consequence thereof and waives any claim whatsoever against (the company etc) in respect thereof.
While wearing the Highland Dress Outfit, the (hirer etc) undertakes to (the Company etc) to wear the Skean Dhu inside the sock at all times secured by a garter and not to remove the Skean Dhu therefrom.
If (the hirer) is in any doubt as to the consequences (whether civil, criminal or otherwise) of wearing the Skean Dhu (the hirer) should consult their own legal advisors.
Collect and Return By Courier Online

What we ask from you:
You (the hirer) must be available to receive and return your hire, to our courier, on the stated dates and times. Failure to adhere to this will result in further charges being charged automatically to your credit ard.
You (the hirer) must be true, honest and as accurate as possible in your self measurement. We recommend that you use our measurement guide details to do this. If the fit is not satisfactory, please report this to us immediately or no later then 9:30 am following the day you receive your hire. We cannot accept responsibility if you fail to do so and cannot accept responsibility for any garment that does not fit. You are expected to treat the Highland Dress Outfit with care.
